The Agency for public private partnership and Canadian Embassy in the Republic of Croatia are jointly organizing the Conference “Public Private Partnerships – the Canadian Experience” on 31st January 2012. The venue of the event is Hotel Westin, Zagreb.
The PPP market in Canada is considered one of the most respected and well-developed in the world, with over 150 projects in 11 sectors including various infrastructure projects such as bridges, roads, fire stations, prisons etc. The provinces of British Columbia, Ontario, Alberta and Quebec have each made a clear policy commitment to PPP procurement in the social and transportation infrastructure sectors. Their experience has shown that the key role for their success have played the institutional capacity within departments and agencies responsible for PPP. Except at the Provinces level, a few major cities (Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Ottawa) have experience in PPP in the following sectors: transportation, water and wastewater treatment, civic buildings (administration, courthouses etc.). This experience at the level of provinces and cities can be useful to all public authority on local and territorial (regional) level, which has limited capacity for successful implementation of PPP projects, along with a significant potential for the development of PPP given the resources at their disposal.
The conference was designed as a forum where primarily Canadian as well as the Croatian experience in the field of PPP ‘s will be discussed, and also experience in the wider region.
If you are interested in participation, please send us the application form no later than 25th January 2012. Simultaneous interpretation in English and Croatian will be provided.
Participation in the conference is not subject to a registration fee. Due to the limited seating the organizers will confirm your participation.
