At the session held on 15 June 2023, the Government of the Republic of Croatia adopted the Decision on the initiation of the procedure of drafting the National Plan for the Promotion of Investment for the period from 2024 to 2030 and the Action Plan for the implementation of the National Plan for the Promotion of Investment for the period from 2024 to 2026.
The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development will work on a drafting of a National Plan proposal as a medium-term act of strategic planning for the field of investments in order to structure public policies and associated investments for the promotion and facilitation of foreign direct investments in the Republic of Croatia, establish coordination mechanisms for regional and national investment promotion and facilitation, and identify additional opportunities for increasing the efficiency of foreign direct investments to create new jobs and more balanced regional development in the Republic of Croatia.
This strategic planning act will ensure compliance and coordination of policy implementation in various public administration bodies and institutions engaged in the promotion and facilitation of foreign investments, in order to maximize the effects of investment on productivity and job creation in the Croatian economy and contribute to more balanced regional development.
The drafting of the National Plan is envisaged as part of the reforms covered by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan 2021-2026 (NPOO) under component C1.1.1. R3 Improving the strategic framework for the promotion of private investment.
In accordance with the provisions of Article 21a, paragraph 3, of the Law on Systems of Strategic Planning and Development Management of the Republic of Croatia (Official Gazette, No. 123/2017 and 151/2022), the first action plan for the implementation of the national plan is adopted together with national plan.
