The round table “Controversies and Disclosure of PPP”, 12/2/2013

The attendees from the leading Croatian media have been addressed by Ms. Dalia Budriene, the Head of PPP Center of Competence in Central Project Management Agency of the Republic of Lithuania and Mr. Damir Juričić, the Managing Director of the Croatian PPP Agency. Ms. Budriene has presented the Lithuanian experience in PPP project implementation on local level and has emphasized the importance of local community support to investment. In addition, she has pointed out that PPP is well represented in media with neutral image in general. Mr. Juričić has focused on disclosure of the controversies related to numerous projects associated with PPP, neither have they had the PPP characteristics nor they fits criteria for Agency’s approval. He has stressed the conditions upon which the project could suits PPP criteria comparing with traditional PP model and why they are useful for taxpayers. Further, he has mentioned the suitability of PPP for blending with EU Funds in infrastructure improvement in future EU prospective. The media representatives were interested for recently announced projects, financing and public partner liabilities in contracting period.
